Canora Edmonton Real Estate

The residential neighbourhood of Canora can be found in west Edmonton. Canora was originally a part of the Town of Jasper Place, but amalgamated with Edmonton in 1964. Canora is mainly residential, with a small amount of commercial development in the south end of the neighbourhood. Approximately 75% of Canora residences are rented, with the remainder being owner-occupied. Close to 50% of Canora residences are apartments, with duplexes making up another 28%, and single family dwellings making up 21%. The majority of construction of Canora residences occured between the end of World War II and the year 1980. The two neighbourhood schools are Brightview Elementary School, which operates under the Edmonton Public School System, and Holy Cross Elementary Junior High School, which operates under the Edmonton Catholic School System. According to the 2012 municipal census by the city of Edmonton, Canora’s population was 3335, which hadn’t increased at all since its 2009 population.
